Independent Pictures have been commissioned by RTE 1 to produce a new Arts series titled “Painting the Nation“. They are seeking talented amateur artists from around Ireland who would like to take part in what could be a launching pad for a new and exciting career.
The series will be presented by Pauline McLynn. Seven talented amateur painters will compete. Two professional judges will set challenges and oversee proceedings. Three painters will make the final. One painter will win the inaugural Painting The Nation title and their final painting will become a public piece of art.

The competition is open to those 18 and over on August 1st 2016. An application form can be downloaded at: http://www.rte.ie/tv/audienceparticipation/
