The opening took place this evening at the Mill Theatre, Dundrum Centre of Jimmy Burns‘ exhibition “Georgian Encounters” – sculpture and painting based on Georgian Dublin and the great personality of the city. The exhibition was opened by Olivia Mitchell TD. The exhibition continues until November 7th.

The Art of Chess exhibition opened last month at The Sebastian Guinness Gallery. Each artist in the exhibition was commissioned to create their own unique take on the chess-set. The photo below shows Gavin Turk playing chess with Henry Channon on Paul McCarthy’s chess set, Kitchen Set, 2003. The exhibition finishes on October 11th.

Thomas Delohery‘s new show ‘WHEN A CERTAIN PART OF HUMANITY DIED’ opened on Saturday the 4th of October, 2008 in the Friars Gate Theatre, Kilmallock, County Limerick. The exhibition was officially opened by Eamon Lenihan of RTE Lyric FM. The show runs until the 31st of October.

Peter Monaghan’s new exhibition entitled ‘Redemption Songs’ which was reviewed by Aidan Dunne from The Irish Times, opened on Thursday 18th of September in Gormleys Fine Art, Dublin. The opening night was a great success, with Peter’s work being enthusiastically received by over a hundred people in attendance.
