The Dublin Painting & Sketching Club annual exhibition has opened in the Concourse Gallery in County Hall, Dun Laoghaire.
Over 100 contemporary Irish artists, including RHA members, are showing more than 300 oil and watercolour paintings, pastels and drawings, at the exhibition. The Dublin & Painting & Sketching Club, founded in 1874, is one of Ireland’s oldest artist bodies.
In celebration of 1916, this year’s exhibition offers a number of special paintings on the theme of ‘A 100 Years of Irish Writing 1916 – 2016’ with a visual tribute to a centenary of Irish literature.
The exhibition is free to the public and continues until Saturday 21st May.
