“All things scary – the Halloween Show” ran from 23rd October to 2nd November in the Balla Bán Art Gallery at the Westbury Mall (off Grafton Street). Artist and professionally book illustrator, Jonathan Barry has illustrated over sixty books including Dracula and Frankenstein in the best selling Wordsworth Classics in the UK. Jonathan Barry specialises in painting famous scenes from literature. Along with Jonathan, other artists exhibiting at this Halloween themed exhibition included Frank O’Dea, Jim Donnelly, Pervaneh, J P Rooney, William Mulhall, FINK, Tom Byrne, Pauline Murphy, Dearbhla, Donna Cooney, Elida Maiques, and others.
Among some of the scary artworks on display for this exhibition included Count Dracula, Frankenstein and his girlfriend, Dracula’s house, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, a scary looking Henry Rollins (musician), Hannibal Lecter, an evil looking Brian Cowen, and the perhaps the scariest picture of all – a watercolour of a smiling Daniel O’Donnell.
