There was little sign of the recession at the Oisin Gallery on Westland Row last Thursday as Attraction: an exhibition of paintings by Vincent Keeling was launched by Fair City’s Ciara O’Callaghan. Some fifteen paintings were sold by the end of the night, with more to follow over the weekend.
Vincent has received from America in the shape of Professor John P. Madden a visiting professor of law at Trinity College and, perhaps more importantly, a member of the prestigious National Arts Club of Gramercy Park, New York. Professor Madden not only purchased one of Vincent’s paintings on the night but was also so impressed by the quality of the work that he is now going to push for an exhibition of Vincent’s paintings in New York at the National Arts Club itself ; a development which could open untold doors for the young painter.
The exhibition now continues at the Oisin Gallery until 18 July.
